Yay! You picked your squad to stand next to you on your big day. Up next, bridesmaids dresses! I spoke a little bit about this in my “2020 MUST HAVE WEDDING TRENDS” skip over to 10:42, but let’s dive into it a bit more today.
A few basic things about bridesmaids dresses:
- Depending on your location and other factors, the average cost of a bridesmaids dress runs from $150 – $300. This cost is usually for the dress itself, but does not include the cost of alterations or shoes.
- It is expected that each bridesmaid front this cost.
- You should start to shop 7-8 months (if applicable) prior to the wedding.
I get asked often where to shop for dresses and my favorites that I’ve seen at weddings have come from: Lulus, Revolve, ASOS, BHDLN and Nordstrom. A popular trend right now that I’m seeing is the bride giving her squad a general color palette and having her girls run with it. It’s so fun to see what each bridesmaid selects, it’s a great peak into their style and unique personality!
Don’t be afraid to mix and match either! Dresses with killer slits, jumpsuits, sequins, a satin slip, lace, or a dress made out of yummy rich velvet – the possibilities are endless!
